Soda Springs is a special place in Placer County, California. It's known for its natural springs, which are like bubbly water coming out of the ground! This area was once a popular spot for a hotel and resort back in the 1800s.
Soda Springs is located near the North Fork of the American River. It sits high up, at an elevation of 6,047 feet (about 1,843 meters). You can find it about 2 miles (3.2 km) west of a place called Tinker Knob. It's also about 4 miles (6.4 km) north-northwest of Granite Chief.
Lakes and Local Features
Right in Soda Springs, you'll find Serene Lakes. These are two beautiful lakes that cover about 77 acres (0.31 square kilometers). They add to the natural beauty of the area.
A Look Back in Time
Many years ago, Soda Springs was a busy resort where people would come to relax. Sadly, the resort building burned down in 1898. Even so, the natural springs and beautiful surroundings remain.
