The National Auditorium of Sodre Dr. Adela Reta is a famous place in Montevideo, Uruguay. It's a big building where you can watch amazing shows like ballets, concerts, and operas.
This special building is named after Adela Reta (1921–2001). She was a lawyer and used to be in charge of SODRE. SODRE is a group in Uruguay that helps with broadcasting, TV, and fun entertainment.
In 2019, the Ministry of Education and Culture in Uruguay said the Auditorium was a "Historical Monument." This means it's a very important building for the country's history and culture.
The Auditorium is built where an old theater, the Urquiza Theater, used to be. That theater sadly burned down in 1971. Today, the Auditorium is also the main home for the National Ballet of Uruguay.

What's Inside the Auditorium?
The Auditorium is located in the old part of downtown Montevideo. It covers a large area, about 25,000 square meters. Inside, it has two main halls for shows. It also has an amphitheater, places for art exhibits, and big open areas for people to walk around. There are even rooms for rehearsals and workshops.
The Eduardo Fabini Hall
The "Eduardo Fabini Hall" is the biggest hall in the Auditorium. It can hold about 2,000 people! This hall is perfect for large shows like operas, big orchestra concerts, and ballet performances.
The stage is the largest in Uruguay. It's very tall, about 27 meters high. The stage opening can also change size, up to 15.5 meters wide and 12 meters long. There's a special area for musicians called the orchestra pit. It can fit over 100 musicians and has parts that can move up and down.
The Hugo Balzo Hall
The "Hugo Balzo Hall" is smaller and more flexible. It can seat about 280 people. This hall is great for smaller shows, especially chamber music. Chamber music is played by a small group of musicians.
This room can be changed easily for different types of performances. Next to this hall, there are special rooms to record audio and video. These recordings can be from shows happening in the Balzo Hall or other parts of the Auditorium.
