Sogod is a beautiful municipality located in the northeastern part of Cebu, Philippines. It is officially known as the Municipality of Sogod. In the 2020 census, about 39,447 people lived there.

History of Sogod
Sogod became an official municipality in 1921. Over the years, it has grown into a lively community. Like many places, it has faced challenges, but its people have always worked together to build a stronger town.
Geography and Location
Sogod is located about 60 kilometers (37 miles) away from Cebu City. It is bordered by different towns and a sea.
- To the north, you'll find Borbon.
- To the west, it's next to Tuburan and Tabuelan.
- To the east, it faces the Camotes Sea.
- To the south, it shares a border with Catmon.
Barangays: Sogod's Communities
Sogod is divided into 18 smaller areas called barangays. Each barangay has even smaller parts known as puroks or sitios.
- Six of these barangays are along the coast.
- Twelve barangays are located in the uplands.
- The coastal barangays, including Ibabao, are considered more developed or "urbanized."
- The other 11 barangays are more rural.
