Exploring Sogod's Geography
Understanding Barangays
Sogod is divided into 18 smaller areas called barangays. Think of a barangay as a neighborhood or a village. Each barangay is then split into even smaller parts called puroks or sitios.
- Six of Sogod's barangays are located along the coast, meaning they are near the sea.
- The other twelve barangays are in the uplands, which means they are higher up, away from the coast.
- Barangay Ibabao and the other coastal barangays are considered more developed, like city areas.
- The other eleven barangays are more rural, meaning they are like the countryside.
