Sol Saks (born December 13, 1910 – died April 16, 2011) was an American writer for television and movies. He is best known for creating the popular TV show Bewitched.

Sol Saks's Life and Work

Early Life and Career

Sol Saks was born in New York City. He grew up and went to high school in Chicago. When he was a child, he worked as an actor on the radio.

As he got older, Sol Saks started writing for radio shows and TV series. Some of the shows he wrote for include My Favorite Husband, Mr. Adams and Eve, and I Married Joan.

Creating "Bewitched"

Sol Saks is most famous for creating the TV sitcom Bewitched. This show was about a witch who married a regular person and tried to live a normal life. It became very popular and is still remembered today.

Other Writing Projects

Besides TV shows, Sol Saks also wrote for movies. He wrote the script for the comedy film Walk, Don't Run. This movie was the last one that famous actor Cary Grant ever made. When the movie came out, a magazine called Time said that the words in the film were very funny and friendly.

Sol Saks also wrote a book called The Craft of Comedy Writing. This book taught people how to write comedy.

Later Years

Sol Saks passed away on April 16, 2011, in Los Angeles, California. He was 100 years old.
