This soundtrack features songs from the TV series. Four of the nine songs on the album are sung by the show's main star, Demi Lovato. "Me, Myself and Time", sung by Demi Lovato, was released as a special promotional song on August 3, 2010. This song was featured in an episode of the Sonny with a Chance TV series. It was also played on Radio Disney. It is the very first song you hear on the soundtrack. Antonina Armato, Tim James, and Devrim Karaoglu wrote this song.

When the soundtrack first came out, it reached number 163 on the Billboard 200 chart. This was the lowest starting position for a soundtrack featuring Demi Lovato at that time.
