Sterling Sandmann Knight, born on March 5, 1989, is an American actor, singer, and dancer. He is best known for his roles on the Disney Channel. He played Chad Dylan Cooper in the sitcom Sonny with a Chance and its spin-off So Random!. He also starred as Zander Carlson in Melissa & Joey and Christopher Wilde in the Disney Channel Original Movie Starstruck.

Early Life

Sterling Knight was born in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. He has a sister named Samantha Scarlett and a brother named Spencer Shuga.

His Acting Journey

Sterling Knight started acting in local plays. He had small parts in films like Calm, Career Day, and Hi-Jinks. His first role with Disney was in an episode of Hannah Montana in 2007. He played Lucas, who was Lilly's boyfriend. Later that year, he also appeared in two episodes of The Closer.

In 2008, Sterling was in Out of Jimmy's Head and Grey's Anatomy. A big role came in 2009 when he played Chad Dylan Cooper in Sonny with a Chance. Chad was a famous and confident actor on a show called Mackenzie Falls. Sterling also made his movie debut in 17 Again. He played Alex O'Donnell, the son of the main character.

In 2010, Sterling starred as teen pop star Christopher Wilde in the Disney Channel movie Starstruck. He sang one song in the movie, but another singer performed the rest of his character's songs. Sterling's next movie was Elle: A Modern Cinderella Tale. He played Ty Parker, a singer looking for new music. He meets a girl and then tries to find her again. This movie came out in April 2010.
