Soraya Viola Heléna Post (born 15 October 1956) is a Swedish politician. She was a member of the European Parliament for Sweden. This means she represented Sweden in a big group of politicians from different European countries. She is a member of the Feminist Initiative party. This party works for equal rights for everyone. She was also part of a larger group called the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats.

Soraya Post's Political Journey
Soraya Post has worked on important issues. She focused on the rights of national minorities. She also worked a lot with questions about the Romani people. She helped start a special school in Gothenburg in 2007. This school was called Agnesbergs folkhögskola.
In 2014, Soraya Post was chosen to lead her party. She was the top candidate for the European Parliament election in Sweden. On May 25, 2014, her party, the Feminist Initiative, won one seat. Soraya Post took that seat. This made her a member of the European Parliament.
After the election, she joined a group called the S&D group. This group is made up of politicians from different countries. They work together on shared goals in the European Parliament.
Soraya Post was the first person from the Romani community in Sweden to be elected to the European Parliament. She was also one of only two Romani members at that time. The other was Damian Drăghici from Romania.

In 2014, there was a public discussion in Sweden. It was about an unofficial engagement involving Soraya Post's eldest daughter. This engagement happened when her daughter was sixteen. It was approved by the Romani community.
Soraya Post explained that this engagement happened about 20 years ago. She said her views on the matter have changed over time. She clearly stated that she is against child marriages.
