Sota Nakazawa (中澤 聡太, Nakazawa Sōta, born 26 October 1982) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender for several well-known clubs in Japan, including Gamba Osaka, where he won major championships.

Playing for Clubs
Sota Nakazawa was born in Mitaka, Japan, on October 26, 1982. After finishing high school, he started his professional football journey.
Early Career
In 2001, Sota joined Kashiwa Reysol. He played there for a few years but did not get much playing time. In June 2006, he moved to FC Tokyo.
Time at Gamba Osaka
Sota Nakazawa joined Gamba Osaka in 2007. This was a very important move for his career. From 2008, he became a regular player for the team.
During his time at Gamba Osaka, the club achieved great success:
- In 2008, they won the AFC Champions League, which is a huge tournament for clubs in Asia.
- They also finished third in the Club World Cup that same year.
- Gamba Osaka won the Emperor's Cup twice, in 2008 and 2009.
Towards the end of 2012, Sota faced an injury. This meant he couldn't play as much. Sadly, the club was moved down to a lower league, J2 League, that year.
Later Career and Retirement
After leaving Gamba Osaka, Sota moved to Kawasaki Frontale in 2013. He then joined Cerezo Osaka in 2015. However, he had fewer chances to play in these later years. He decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2016 season.
Playing for Japan's Youth Team
Sota Nakazawa also had the chance to represent his country. In June 2001, he was chosen to play for the Japan U-20 national team. This team competed in the 2001 World Youth Championship. Sota played in all three matches for Japan in that tournament.
