Soundarya Rajinikanth (born Shaku Bai Rao Gaikwad; 20 September 1984) is a talented Indian graphic designer, film producer, and film director. She mainly works in the Tamil cinema industry. She is also the founder and owner of Ocher Picture Productions.

Soundarya started her career in movies as a graphic designer. She even designed the cool title sequences for films starring her famous father, Rajinikanth. Later, she became a film producer with the movie Goa (2010). She then made her debut as a film director with the movie Kochadaiyaan (2014).

Soundarya's Journey in Film

Soundarya Rajinikanth, whose birth name is Shaku Bai Rao Gaikwad, went to school in Chennai. She studied at the Ashram Matriculation Higher Secondary School.

In 2007, her company, Ocher Studios, teamed up with Warner Bros. Entertainment to make and share Tamil films. Soundarya was first planning to direct a 3D animated movie called Sultan: The Warrior. This film was going to feature her father, Rajinikanth. Even though there was a lot of excitement and promotion for it, the film was eventually canceled.

Instead, she directed Kochadaiiyaan. This movie was very special because it was India's first motion capture film. Motion capture is a technology that records the movements of actors and uses them to animate digital characters. Rajinikanth played the main role in Kochadaiiyaan. With this film, Soundarya became the first woman to direct her father in a feature film. In 2014, she received an award for "Technical Innovation In Film" for her work on Kochadaiiyaan.

In 2016, Soundarya began working on a film called Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam. However, this film was later put on hold. Her next movie as a director was Velaiilla Pattadhari 2, which was filmed in both Tamil and Telugu languages.

In 2019, Soundarya started a new production company called May 6 Entertainment. She also created Hoote, which is a social media platform where people can share voice messages.

Soundarya is the younger daughter of the famous actor Rajinikanth and his wife Latha. She has an older sister named Aishwarya Rajinikanth.

Soundarya married Ashwin Ramkumar, who is a businessman, on September 3, 2010, in Chennai. They had a son together on May 6, 2015. In 2016, Soundarya and Ashwin decided to separate. Their marriage officially ended in July 2017.

Soundarya later married Vishagan Vanangamudi, who is an actor and businessman, on February 11, 2019. Their son was born in 2022.
