South Hams facts for kids
South Hams is a special area, or district, located on the south coast of Devon, England. It's a beautiful place with a mix of countryside and coastline.
The main office for South Hams is in the town of Totnes. The biggest town in the district is Ivybridge. A part of the famous Dartmoor National Park, known for its wild moorlands, is also found within South Hams.
History of South Hams
During World War II, South Hams played an important role. Some areas were used by the Allied forces. They trained there for a very big event called the Normandy invasion. This was a crucial part of the war effort.
