South Vinemont is a small town located in Cullman County, Alabama, in the United States. In 2010, about 749 people lived there. This was more than the 425 people who lived there in 2000.

The town was first officially created in 1961. It was called Vinemont at that time. However, state officials said that name was already being used. So, the town's name was changed to South Vinemont. Even after the name change, the U.S. Census still called it Vinemont in 1970. It was not until 1980 that the census officially recognized it as South Vinemont.

South Vinemont is in the northern part of Cullman County. It is about 4 miles (6.4 km) north of Cullman. Cullman is the main city and county seat of Cullman County.

The U.S. Census Bureau says that South Vinemont covers a total area of about 0.91 square miles (2.3 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. Only a very small part, about 0.01 square miles (0.02 square kilometers), is water.
