The Story of Sri Krishna Sweets
How It All Began
Sri Krishna Sweets started a long time ago in 1948. It was first a restaurant in Coimbatore. A person named N. K. Mahadeva Iyer founded it. His goal was to make and sell pure ghee sweets. These sweets were made right at home.
Growing Bigger
In 1972, Mr. Iyer opened a special sweet shop. This shop was in R. S. Puram. It was just for selling sweets. The sweet shop did very well. Because of its success, more shops opened in Coimbatore in 1991.
Expanding Across India
By 1996, the company grew even more. It started opening shops in Chennai and other cities. These cities are all in South India. By 2019, Sri Krishna Sweets had 75 stores across India. It also had three stores in the United Arab Emirates. The company planned to have 100 stores by 2020.
More Than Just Sweets
Over time, Sri Krishna Sweets added more to its menu. It began serving snacks in its sweet shops. Since 2006, they have also offered lunch to customers. Today, Mr. Mahadeva Iyer's sons manage the company. Their names are M. Murali and M. Krishnan.
