How Sri Krishna Sweets Started
Sri Krishna Sweets began as a restaurant in Coimbatore way back in 1948. The person who started it was named N. K. Mahadeva Iyer. He had a dream to make "pure ghee sweets" right at home and sell them.
Opening Sweet Shops
In 1972, Mr. Iyer opened a special shop just for selling sweets in a place called R. S. Puram in Coimbatore. People really liked the sweets, and the shop did very well!
Because the sweet shop was so popular, more branches opened in different parts of Coimbatore in 1991. This helped more people enjoy their treats.
Growing Across India
By 1996, Sri Krishna Sweets started to grow even bigger. They opened shops in Chennai and other cities in South India. This meant their yummy sweets could reach even more customers.
As of 2010, the company had 60 shops all over India. They also opened three shops in the United Arab Emirates, sharing Indian sweets with people there.
More Than Just Sweets
Over time, Sri Krishna Sweets started offering more than just sweets. They began serving snacks in their shops. Since 2006, they even offer lunch to customers!
Today, the company is managed by Mr. Mahadeva Iyer's sons, M. Murali and M. Krishnan. They continue their father's legacy of making delicious traditional Indian sweets.
