Unique Features of the Church
This church might be small, but it has some cool features:
- It has an apsidal sanctuary. This means the part of the church where the altar is, called the sanctuary, is shaped like a half-circle or an arch.
- The big window at the front (the west window) is in a style called Perpendicular Gothic. This is a type of design from the late Middle Ages, known for its tall, narrow windows and detailed stone patterns.
- On the roof, there's a square tower called a bellcote. This is where the church bell is kept. On top of the bellcote, there's a pointy, eight-sided spirelet, which is like a tiny spire.
- Inside the church, there's a special screen. This screen was made by a local blacksmith named David Jones, which means it was crafted right there in the community!
