St Winifred's Chapel in Holbeck, Nottinghamshire, England, is a special church. It is a 'Grade II listed' building, which means it is an important historical place protected by law. This chapel used to be a private church for the Dukes of Portland, who lived nearby at Welbeck Abbey. Holbeck is a village that was built especially for these Dukes. Today, it serves as a parish church for the local community, part of the Church of England.

The Story of the Chapel
St Winifred's Church was built a long time ago, between 1913 and 1916. The plans for the church were made by Mr. McIntyre. These plans were then looked at and approved by Louis Ambler, with a few changes. The church was built for the 6th Duke of Portland. Its design was inspired by another church in Steetley, Derbyshire.

St Winifred's Church has traditionally been the burial place for the Dukes of Portland and their families. Most of them are buried in the small churchyard around the chapel.

Some of the Dukes and their family members buried at St Winifred's include:
- The 6th Duke of Portland (1857–1943)
- The 7th Duke of Portland (1893–1977)
- Ivy Cavendish-Bentinck, Duchess of Portland (1887–1982)
- The 9th Duke of Portland (1897–1990). When he passed away, the title of Duke of Portland ended.
Many of the earlier Dukes of Portland are buried in other places, mostly in London. For example, the 1st and 2nd Dukes are in Westminster Abbey. The 3rd Duke is in St Marylebone Parish Church, and the 5th Duke is in Kensal Green Cemetery. The 4th Duke was buried in a very old family vault that had not been opened for 138 years before him.
