A Glimpse into History
Long ago, in the 1800s, Stagecoach was an important stop for actual stagecoaches! These were like old-fashioned buses that carried people and mail across the country. Later, farms were set up in this area. One of these farms belonged to a person named W. L. Swinley.
The town we know today as Stagecoach began to grow in 1958 as a new residential area. In the 1960s, a community club opened, bringing people together. By 1974, the town even had an unofficial mayor! Stagecoach officially became an incorporated town in 1980. At that time, about 108 homes were part of the community. The town continued to grow, reaching 340 residents by 1990 and 455 by the year 2000.

Stagecoach is located in a lovely part of Texas. You can find it at these coordinates: 30°8′34″N 95°42′40″W / 30.14278°N 95.71111°W. The town covers an area of about 1.2 square miles (3.05 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a small part being water.
