Stanisław Lubieniecki (born August 23, 1623, in Raków – died May 18, 1675, in Hamburg) was a smart Polish person. He was a Socinian theologian, which means he studied religion. He was also a historian, an astronomer who studied stars, and a writer. A lunar crater on the Moon is named Lubiniezky after him.

About Stanisław Lubieniecki's Family
Stanisław Lubieniecki was born into an important family. His family had strong connections to the Socinian religion.
- His father, Krzysztof Lubieniecki (1598–1648), was a religious leader.
- His son, Teodor Bogdan Lubieniecki (1654 – around 1718), became a painter. He also created art using prints.
- Another son, Krzysztof Lubieniecki (1659–1729), was also a painter and an engraver.
Stanisław Lubieniecki's Life Story
From 1646 to 1650, Stanisław studied at the Racovian Academy. This was a famous school in his hometown.
His hometown was Raków. It was a large town with about 15,000 people. It was founded about 100 years before he was born. Many people in Raków were Socinians. However, in 1639, the Polish government made a rule. This rule said that only Catholicism was allowed. Because of this, the people of Raków who were not Catholic had to leave. Their homes were also destroyed. By the year 1700, only about 700 people lived there.
After this, Stanisław went to study in France and the Netherlands. Later, he moved to live in Hamburg. In Hamburg, he faced problems from the local religious leaders. Sadly, Stanisław and his two daughters, Catherine Salomea and Griselda Constance, passed away. This happened due to an accidental poisoning, likely a mistake by a domestic servant. His wife survived.
Stanisław Lubieniecki's Writings
Stanisław Lubieniecki wrote an important book. It was published after he died by Benedykt Wiszowaty.
His most famous work is called Theatrum Cometicum. This book is a collection of information about comets. It includes details and pictures of 415 comets. These comets were seen from ancient times up until the year 1665.
