Stanley Tobias Wilson Sr., born on August 23, 1961, is a former American football player. He was a talented running back in the National Football League (NFL). Wilson played for the Cincinnati Bengals during his professional career.
Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners. The Bengals chose him in the ninth round of the 1983 NFL draft.
Wilson attended Banning High School in Los Angeles. He was a standout player there. In 1978 and 1979, he was named the 4A player of the year. He played alongside another great player, Freeman McNeil, in the backfield.
Life After Football
After his football career, Stanley Wilson faced some personal challenges. He spent time in rehabilitation programs. As of 2024, he lives in Wisconsin with his wife and two children. He receives medication to help manage his health.
Wilson's Family in Football
Stanley Wilson's family has a strong connection to football. His son, Stanley Wilson Jr., also became a professional football player. Stanley Jr. went to Stanford University on a scholarship. He started as a running back, like his father. Later, he switched to playing cornerback.
The Detroit Lions drafted Stanley Wilson Jr. in the third round of the 2005 NFL draft. Sadly, Stanley Wilson Jr. passed away on February 1, 2023. Stanley Wilson's youngest son, Seth, also played running back. Seth played for North Dakota State University.
