Stanley Tobias Wilson Jr. (born November 5, 1982 – died February 1, 2023) was an American football player. He played as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). The Detroit Lions picked him in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He also played college football for Stanford University.
Early Life and Family
Stanley Wilson Jr. grew up in Carson, California. He lived with his grandparents. His father, Stanley Wilson Sr., was also a football player. He played as a running back for the Cincinnati Bengals. Stanley Jr. went to Bishop Montgomery High School in Torrance.
College Football Career
Wilson went to Stanford University in 2000. He played for the Stanford Cardinal football team for four seasons, from 2001 to 2004. He became a regular starter in 2002. That year, he made 32 tackles and had two interceptions.
In 2003, Wilson had 27 tackles and defended six passes. During his last year in 2004, he had his best season. He made 54 tackles and defended five passes. He also returned one interception for 51 yards. His strong play earned him special recognition in the Pac-10.

The Detroit Lions chose Stanley Wilson Jr. in the third round of the 2005 NFL draft. He was the 72nd player picked overall. Wilson played for the Lions from 2005 to 2007. During his time in the NFL, he played in 32 games. He made 86 tackles, defended eight passes, and forced one fumble.
In 2007, Wilson got a knee injury. The Lions later re-signed him in 2008. However, he tore his Achilles tendon during a game. This injury ended his professional football career.
Later Life
Stanley Wilson Jr. passed away on February 1, 2023. He was 40 years old. He died after collapsing in Los Angeles County.
