Stefan Lukas Hierländer (born on February 3, 1991) is a professional footballer from Austria. He plays as a midfielder for the Austrian Bundesliga club Sturm Graz. He has also played for the Austrian national team.

Stefan Hierländer's Club Journey
Stefan Hierländer began his football journey at his local club, SV Greifenburg. He then played for SV Spittal/Drau from 2002 to 2007. Later, from 2008 to 2010, he joined Austria Kärnten, a team in the Austrian Football Bundesliga.
First Big Games
His first game with the main team was on March 18, 2009. He played against Sturm Graz, coming on as a substitute. When Austria Kärnten faced financial issues and lost its license for the 2010–11 season, Stefan signed with Red Bull Salzburg.
Moving to Germany
On May 31, 2014, Stefan signed a two-year contract with RB Leipzig in Germany. He played there for a couple of seasons.
Winning the Austrian Cup
Stefan returned to Austria and joined Sturm Graz. On May 9, 2018, he scored the only goal in a big match. This goal helped Sturm Graz beat Red Bull Salzburg in extra time. This victory won them the 2017–18 Austrian Cup, which is a major trophy in Austrian football.
Stefan Hierländer's International Career
Stefan Hierländer was first called to play for the senior Austrian national team in September 2017. This happened when another player, Guido Burgstaller, had to withdraw due to an injury. Stefan was called up for important matches against Wales and Georgia.
He made his official debut for the national team on March 27, 2018. Austria won that game 4–0 against Luxembourg.
