Stefanie Powers (born November 2, 1942) is a famous American actress. She is most recognized for playing Jennifer Hart in the exciting TV mystery series Hart to Hart. This show aired from 1979 to 1984. For her role, she was nominated for several big awards, including two Primetime Emmy Awards and five Golden Globe Awards.

Early Life and Beginnings
Stefanie Powers was born Stefania Zofya Paul in Hollywood on November 2, 1942. Her family name was sometimes Federkiewicz. When she was 16, she signed a contract with Columbia Pictures. As was common back then, her name was changed to "Stefanie Powers" for her acting career.
Her parents divorced when she was young. Stefanie was very close to her mother, Juliana Dimitria Golan, who passed away in 2009 at 96 years old. Stefanie also had an older brother, Jeffrey, and a half-sister, Diane. During her time at Hollywood High School, Stefanie was a pom-pom girl and part of the swim team.
Acting Career Highlights
Stefanie Powers began her acting journey in 1961. She first used the stage name Taffy Paul in the independent film The Young Sinner.
Early Film Roles

In the early 1960s, Stefanie appeared in many movies. These included Experiment in Terror (1962) and If a Man Answers (1962). She also played a schoolgirl in Tammy Tell Me True (1961). In 1963, she was Bunny, the police chief's daughter, in Palm Springs Weekend. She also appeared in the hospital dramas The Interns (1962) and The New Interns (1964). In 1965, she acted alongside Tallulah Bankhead in Die! Die! My Darling.
Becoming a TV Star
In 1966, Stefanie got a starring role in the TV series The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.. This show was a spin-off from The Man from U.N.C.L.E.. She played April Dancer, a secret agent. The show lasted for one season, from September 1966 to April 1967.
Stefanie continued to appear in many TV shows throughout the 1970s. She was a guest star in It Takes a Thief in 1970. Nine years later, she would star with Robert Wagner in Hart to Hart. Before that, she starred in The Feather and Father Gang as Toni "Feather" Danton. Toni was a successful lawyer whose father was a charming ex-con man.
She also made guest appearances in popular shows like McCloud (1971), The Mod Squad (1972), and The Rockford Files (1975). She even appeared in The Six Million Dollar Man (1976) and The Bionic Woman (1976).
In 1977, Stefanie played Sally Whalen in the TV miniseries Washington: Behind Closed Doors. This series was based on a book inspired by the Nixon administration. In 1978, she starred in the TV movie A Death in Canaan. She played Joan Barthel, a writer who helped bring attention to a real-life case.
Hart to Hart and Beyond
Stefanie Powers became widely famous for her role as Jennifer Hart in Hart to Hart. In this American mystery series, she and Robert Wagner played a married couple. They were always getting involved in mysteries and crimes, which they would then solve. Hart to Hart was on TV for five seasons, from 1979 to 1984. Stefanie and Robert Wagner later reunited for eight Hart to Hart TV movies in the 1990s.
After Hart to Hart, Stefanie continued to act in TV miniseries. She starred in Mistral's Daughter (1984) and Deceptions (1985). In Deceptions, she played twins who switch places. In 1987, she starred in the TV drama At Mother's Request.
Stage Work and Recent Projects
Stefanie Powers has also had a successful career on stage. In 1991, she starred with John Barrowman in the London musical Matador. In 1993, she and Robert Wagner performed in the play Love Letters in Chicago. They told the story of a 40-year relationship without leaving their chairs.
She toured the UK and U.S. in 2002, 2004, and 2005 playing Anna Leonowens in The King and I. In 2003, she released her first music CD, On The Same Page.
More recently, Stefanie has continued to act. In 2015, she starred in the musical Gotta Dance in Chicago. In 2018, she co-starred in the film The Artist's Wife with Bruce Dern and Lena Olin. The film is about an artist's wife whose life changes when her husband is diagnosed with Alzheimer's. In May 2018, she toured the UK in the stage production of 84 Charing Cross Road. She played Helene Hanff, a New York writer who corresponded with a London bookseller.

Personal Life and Interests
Stefanie Powers was married to actor Gary Lockwood from 1966 to 1972. After her divorce, she had a relationship with actor William Holden. They shared a deep love for wildlife conservation. After William Holden passed away in 1981, Stefanie became the founding President of the William Holden Wildlife Foundation. She also became a director of the Mount Kenya Game Ranch and Wildlife Conservancy in Nanyuki, Kenya. In the United States, she works with both the Cincinnati Zoo and Atlanta Zoo. She spends a lot of her time speaking internationally about wildlife preservation.
Stefanie was married to French aristocrat Patrick Houitte de La Chesnais from 1993 to 1999. She later had a relationship with auditor Tom Carroll until his passing in 2014.
She is also a polo player. She was one of the first international members of the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club, which includes King Charles III.
Health Journey
In November 2008, Stefanie Powers was diagnosed with a form of lung cancer. She had surgery in January 2009 and has since recovered.
