Stepsister from Planet Weird is a fun Disney Channel Original Movie that first came out in June 2000. It was directed by Steve Boyum and stars Courtnee Draper, Tamara Hope, Lance Guest, and Khrystyne Haje. This movie tells a story about two very different girls who become stepsisters and discover a big secret!

Discovering a Weird Stepsister
Megan Larson is a regular 16-year-old girl. She really wants her parents, Fred and Kathy, to get back together. She also wishes her younger brother, Trevor, wasn't so annoying. Most of all, Megan dreams of being popular and having Cutter, a cool boy, as her boyfriend.
A New Family Member Arrives
Things get a bit crazy when Megan's mom, Kathy, meets a man named Cosmo Cola. He seems nice but is very unusual. Cosmo has a daughter named Ariel, who is even stranger than him! Ariel acts in very odd ways. For example, she hides under her dad's car when it's windy because she's scared of the wind. She also talks in a very fancy way and wears many layers of clothes. Ariel can't even ride a bicycle, even with training wheels and a football helmet for safety!
Ariel's Strange Behavior
Ariel often complains about Earth. She wants to go back to her home in Yukon to be with her boyfriend, Fanul. What's really surprising for Megan is that the kids at school think Ariel's strange behavior is "cool and revolutionary." Her teachers even find her way of speaking poetic. On her very first day, Ariel gets to sit at the popular table, which makes Cutter notice her.
Uncovering an Alien Secret
Megan doesn't know it yet, but Ariel and her father, Cosmo, are actually aliens! They come from a planet called Zircalon. On their home planet, people are like floating bubbles of gas. This means Ariel feels very uncomfortable with all the solid objects on Earth. She dislikes almost everything here: her name, the wind, food, and even people. She thinks her human body is "grotesque."
Why They Came to Earth
Ariel's father was a freedom fighter on Zircalon. They had to escape to Earth to be safe. They left behind their home and Ariel's boyfriend, Fanul. Fanul is the son of the mean emperor S'Vad. Ariel's mother was lost during their escape.
An Unlikely Alliance
At first, Ariel and Megan become enemies, even though Megan's mom and Ariel's dad get engaged. But then, they both realize they want to stop their parents from getting married. So, they decide to work together for a short time to achieve their goal. However, none of their plans to break up their parents work out.
Fighting for Freedom
After a while, Megan starts to suspect something really unusual is going on. She soon discovers that Ariel and Cosmo are indeed aliens! Just then, Fanul and his father, S'Vad, arrive on Earth. They want to take Ariel and Cosmo back to Zircalon.
Defeating the Emperor
But Fanul changes his mind and turns against his father. Megan, Ariel, and Cutter help him understand the importance of freedom. Since Ariel's alien race is weak against wind, they come up with a clever plan. Ariel, Megan, Cutter, Fanul, and Trevor use a leaf blower and hairdryers to defeat S'Vad!
A Happy Ending
After S'Vad is defeated, Cosmo and Kathy get married. Megan and Fanul start to like each other, and Ariel and Cutter also develop feelings. Ariel and Megan become best friends! Fanul plans to go back to Zircalon to rule after his father, but he wants to bring freedom to his people. He promises to visit Megan on Earth often. Megan and Ariel realize that even though they are from different worlds, they are actually very much alike.
