Early Life and Cooking

Steven Meese grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida. This was until the mid-1970s. His Greek family inspired him to start cooking. When he was young, he played soccer in the U.S. Soccer Little League. He even had a chance to play in the English Premier Little League. But then, his interest turned back to his Fisher-Price play kitchen!

Learning to Cook Like a Pro

In 1995, Steven Meese was accepted into the Disney Culinary Academy. He trained with very famous chefs. Some of his teachers were Darryl Mickler and Reimund Pitz. He also learned from Michael LaDuke. Michael LaDuke has been a judge on shows like Food Network Challenge and Iron Chef America.

Meese traveled all over the country to learn new cooking skills. He has attended special dinners with famous chefs. He has cooked alongside many top chefs. These include James Beard winners John Currence and Mike Lata. He also worked with Grand Chef Colin Bedford. Chef Meese has even cooked with very well-known chefs like Wolfgang Puck, Bobby Flay, and Emeril Lagasse.

"A Chef's Journey" on PBS

Steven Meese created a TV show for PBS called A Chef's Journey. It was shown on some PBS stations in the Midwest. The show aired from 2014 to 2016. On the show, Meese talked with and cooked alongside some of the best chefs. These included John Currence of City Grocery and Ryan McCaskey of Acadia.

Helping Others Through Food

Steven Meese also helps many charities. He is an ambassador for groups like No Kid Hungry. He also supports St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Charity: Water. In 2017, he helped with Chef's Table Austin. This event raises a lot of money for Water to Thrive.
