Stevenson Island is a small piece of land in Yellowstone Lake in Wyoming, United States. It is an island where no one lives. The island is located in Teton County.
The island got its name from Colonel James D. Stevenson. It was first called Stevenson's Island. Sometimes, people still call it Stevensons Island today.
About Stevenson Island
Stevenson Island is long and thin. It stretches from north to south in the lake. At its widest point, the island is about 250 meters (820 feet) across. It is about 1,800 meters (1.1 miles) long.
The island is not far from the western shore of Yellowstone Lake. It is about 2.5 kilometers (1.6 miles) away. This is near where a stream called Weasel Creek flows into the lake.
