Stinkor is a bad guy, or villain, from the cartoon and toy series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. He's known as the 'Evil Master of Odors'. Stinkor looks like a human-skunk mix. His special power is releasing a super strong, bad smell. This smell can make his enemies stop moving!
How Stinkor Was Created
The First Toy (1985)
Stinkor first appeared in 1985 as an action figure toy. He was part of the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe toy line. His toy came with a small comic book called The Stench of Evil!.
What made the Stinkor toy special was its smell. It was one of the few toys that actually had an odor built in! The toy was made by Mattel. They used parts from another villain's toy, Mer-Man.
Stinkor's toy was painted black and white. He also had different chest armor than Mer-Man. To give him his unique smell, the toy was treated with patchouli oil. This made him smell musky, just like a skunk.
Stinkor's Cartoon Debut (2002)
Stinkor almost didn't make it into the original Masters of the Universe cartoon. The people making the show, like Lou Scheimer at Filmation, thought his power was too funny. They decided not to use him in any episodes.
However, Stinkor finally appeared in the 2002 version of the He-Man cartoon. This was the first time he was ever seen on TV! In this show, we learned how he became Stinkor.
He was once a small thief named Odiphus. He looked a bit like a large house cat. Odiphus saw Kobra Khan escape. Later, Odiphus wanted to join Skeletor's evil group.
A science accident happened in Tri-Klops' lab. This accident changed Odiphus into Stinkor. It also gave him his terrible smell. Stinkor isn't safe from his own stench. So, he has to wear an oxygen mask to breathe properly.
Later, Stinkor learned to control his smell. He could shoot it out in focused blasts. He teamed up with Skeletor to fight He-Man. Even though Stinkor is hard to be around, Skeletor found him quite useful.
In the show's second season, an episode called "Out of the Past" showed more of Stinkor's story. We saw Odiphus as a young boy. He was from a village called Pelezea. Odiphus always wanted to be a criminal. As a child, he even betrayed his own people. He told an invading warlord where their weapons were hidden. He was punished for this later.
