Stony Creek has a connection to early transportation in Virginia.
Railroad Connections
Back in 1848, Stony Creek was an important stop along the Petersburg Railroad. This railroad helped people and goods travel across the region. Today, the old Petersburg Railroad line is part of the CSX railway system, which is still used for trains.
