Stormie Omartian (born September 16, 1942) is an American author who writes Christian books. She is married to Michael Omartian. Before she started writing, she recorded five music albums with her husband.
Early Life and Career
Stormie Omartian was born in 1942 in Nebraska. She grew up on a small farm in Wyoming. When she was eight, her family moved to Compton, California.
From a young age, Stormie wanted to be a singer and actress. While studying at UCLA, she began working in these fields. She performed in many theater shows in California. She also appeared on popular TV shows like The Dean Martin Show and The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour.
Stormie was a backup singer for famous artists such as Glen Campbell, Neil Diamond, and Ray Charles. She also sang with the Norman Luboff Choir and toured with The Sandpipers. In 1967, she released a pop song called "All The Warm Is Gone" with a duo named Stormie & Sunny.
Music and Books
Stormie Omartian and her husband, Michael, have written many songs together. They created a Christian musical called Child of the Promise. They have also released several music albums with worship songs and original music. Stormie has also recorded audiobooks, including The Prayer that Changes Everything.

Family Life
Stormie Omartian married Michael Omartian in 1973. They have two children, Christopher (born 1976) and Amanda (born 1981). They also have a "spiritually adopted" ward named John Kendrick (born 1979). Since 1993, the family has lived in the Nashville area.
In the early 1960s, Stormie had a relationship with comedian Steve Martin. They were both starting their careers in theater at Knotts Berry Farm. Steve Martin has said that Stormie helped him learn about philosophy and other ideas that changed his way of thinking.
