Stronach is a small community in Michigan, United States. It is located in Manistee County. Stronach is known as an unincorporated community. This means it is not a separate city or town with its own local government. It is also a census-designated place (CDP). This is a special area the government defines for counting people during a census.
In 2020, about 170 people lived in Stronach. The community sits at the southeast end of Manistee Lake.
History of Stronach
Stronach was not always called Stronach. At first, it was known as "Paggeotville." The name changed when two brothers, John and Adam Stronach, built a sawmill there in 1841. This sawmill was an important business for the area.
A post office opened in Stronach on August 9, 1866. A post office is where people send and receive mail. This post office helped the community for many years. Today, people in Stronach get their mail from the Manistee post office.
Geography of Stronach
Stronach is located in the southwestern part of Manistee County. It is in the western area of Stronach Township. The Little Manistee River flows along the southern edge of the community. This river then empties into Manistee Lake. Manistee Lake is on the western side of Stronach.
The area of Stronach is about 0.35 square miles (0.90 square kilometers). All of this area is land. There is no water within the official boundaries of the community itself, though it is next to Manistee Lake.

The number of people living in Stronach is counted every ten years. This count is part of the U.S. Decennial Census.
