The Subercase River is a river in Quebec, Canada. It flows into Grasset Lake, which is part of the larger Nottaway River system. This river is located in the Nord-du-Québec region.

The Subercase River flows through several areas, including the townships of Desmazures, Daloigny, La Gauchetière, Saint Hélène, Subercase, and Grasset.

The main activity in this area is forestry, which means people work with trees and forests. Another important activity is recreational tourism, especially hunting and fishing.

The river's surface is usually frozen from early November until mid-May. It's generally safe to travel on the ice from mid-November to mid-April.

River's Path and Location

The Subercase River starts from a small forest stream. This starting point is about 27.3 kilometres (17.0 mi) (17 miles) southeast of where the river ends. It's also about 35.5 kilometres (22.1 mi) (22 miles) southwest of the town of Matagami.

The river flows for about 83.5 kilometres (51.9 mi) (52 miles). It travels mostly through marshy areas. The river generally flows north, making some curves along the way. It passes through different townships, including Desmazures, Daloigny, La Gauchetière, and Saint-Hélène. In Saint-Hélène, it goes around the Saint-Hélène Hills and through the southern part of Long Lake. Then it flows into the Subercase and Grasset townships.

The Subercase River eventually empties into the south side of Grasset Lake. This meeting point is about 30.0 kilometres (18.6 mi) (18.6 miles) west of downtown Matagami, Quebec.
