Suguru Ito (伊藤 卓, Ito Suguru, born September 7, 1975) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a midfielder for several teams in Japan.

Suguru Ito's Football Journey

Suguru Ito was born in Akita Prefecture, Japan, on September 7, 1975. He grew up loving football and became a professional player. He played for different clubs and even represented his country.

Playing for Club Teams

Suguru Ito started his professional career in 1996 with Nagoya Grampus Eight. This was a big team in Japan's top league, the J1 League. Even though he was part of the team, he didn't get to play in many games during his time there.

In July 1999, Suguru Ito moved to another J1 League team, Kyoto Purple Sanga. However, he didn't play any matches for them either. He was looking for more time on the field.

Moving to New Clubs

In 2000, Suguru Ito joined Vegalta Sendai, a team in the J2 League (Japan's second division). Here, he finally got to play a lot more! He played in 24 games and scored 6 goals, showing his skills as a midfielder.

His last club was Shonan Bellmare, which he joined in 2001. Unfortunately, he didn't play much for this team. At the end of the 2001 season, Suguru Ito decided to retire from professional football.

Playing for Japan

Suguru Ito also had the chance to play for his country. In April 1995, when he was still a student at Kokushikan University, he was chosen for the Japan U-20 national team.

World Youth Championship

Being selected for the national team meant he got to play in a very important tournament: the 1995 World Youth Championship. This is a global competition for young football players. Suguru Ito wore the number 10 jersey for Japan, which is often given to a team's main playmaker. He played in three matches during this exciting championship.
