Suguru Ito (伊藤 卓, Ito Suguru, born September 7, 1975) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a Midfielder. He was also part of Japan's national youth team.

Playing for Clubs

Suguru Ito was born in Akita Prefecture, Japan, on September 7, 1975. He started his professional football journey in 1996. He joined a team called Nagoya Grampus Eight. This team played in the top Japanese league, the J1 League.

Suguru Ito played for Nagoya Grampus Eight until 1999. He then moved to Kyoto Purple Sanga in July 1999. After that, he joined Vegalta Sendai in 2000. This team was in the J2 League, which is the second-highest league in Japan. He played many games for Vegalta Sendai.

In 2001, Suguru Ito moved to Shonan Bellmare. This was another team in the J2 League. He played a few games there before he stopped playing professional football at the end of the 2001 season. Throughout his career, he played 46 league games and scored 8 goals.

Playing for Japan's National Team

Suguru Ito also had the chance to play for his country. In April 1995, when he was still a university student, he was chosen for the Japan U-20 national team.

He played in a big international tournament called the 1995 World Youth Championship. This competition is for young players from all over the world. Suguru Ito wore the number 10 jersey for Japan. He played in three matches during this important tournament.
