Sulaymaniyah Governorate (also called Sulaymaniyah Province) is a mountainous area in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It is known for its beautiful landscapes and important history. The biggest city in this area is Sulaymaniyah.
A part of Sulaymaniyah Governorate, called Halabja District, became its own separate governorate in 2014. This shows how regions can change over time.

How the Governorate is Governed
Sulaymaniyah Governorate has its own leaders who help run the area. They work to make sure things like schools, roads, and services are available for everyone.

- Governor: The main leader of the governorate is Haval Abubakir. He is like the head of the local government.

- Kalar District: This district's capital is Kelar.
- Penjwen District: Its capital is Pêncwên.

- Sulaymaniyah District: This is the district where the main city of Sulaymaniyah is located.
