Sulaymaniyah Governorate (also called Sulaymaniyah Province) is a mountainous area in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. It is known for its beautiful landscapes and important history. The biggest city in this area is Sulaymaniyah.

A part of Sulaymaniyah Governorate, called Halabja District, became its own separate governorate in 2014. This shows how regions can change over time.
