Who Was Sulhi Dölek?
Sulhi Dölek was born in İstanbul, Turkey, on September 20, 1948. He joined the Turkish Navy when he was young and studied at the Naval Academy. To learn even more, he went to the United States. There, he studied mechanical engineering and marine engineering at Michigan University.
He worked in the Navy for many years. In 1988, he decided to leave the Navy when he was a Commander. A Commander is a high rank in the navy. After leaving, he focused completely on his writing career. Sadly, Sulhi Dölek passed away on November 7, 2005, because of a brain hemorrhage.

Even before he left the Navy, Sulhi Dölek started sharing his stories. Some of his short stories were printed in a funny magazine called Akbaba. This magazine was known for its satire.
