Sulphur, Nevada, is a ghost town located in Humboldt County, Nevada. A ghost town is a place where most people have left, and it's mostly empty now. Sulphur used to be a stop along the Feather River Route for trains. This route went through the Black Rock Desert near the Kamma Mountains.
History of Sulphur
Sulphur got its name because there were lots of sulphur deposits nearby. Sulphur is a yellow chemical element.
A post office was open in Sulphur at different times. It operated from 1899 until 1953. This means people lived and worked there for many years before it became a ghost town.
