Sunderland is a small place in Calvert County, Maryland, in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
Sunderland is found where several roads meet: Maryland routes 2, 4, and 262, plus Dalrymple and Pushaw Station roads. It's about five miles south of Dunkirk and 10 miles north of Prince Frederick. Even though it's not a city, Sunderland has its own zip code, 20689. In 2007, the local post office closed, and officials are still working to find a new spot for it.
