History of Sunman
Sunman got its name from John Sunman. He was an early postmaster, which means he was in charge of the local post office. The post office started operating in Sunman way back in 1833.
The town of Sunman officially began in 1856. This happened when a railroad line was built through the area. The railroad helped the town grow by making it easier for people and goods to travel.
