Sunter Island is a tiny island located in a very special part of Australia. You can find it in Queensland, which is a state in Australia. It's also part of the Aboriginal Shire of Lockhart River.
Geography
This small island is a part of the amazing Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. This park is a huge protected area for ocean life, like fish and corals. Sunter Island sits in a place called Lloyd Bay. This bay is located between Lockhart River and Cape Direction. The island is very small, only about 0.01 square kilometers in size. To give you an idea, that's like a very small park or a few tennis courts put together!
