The Story of Surf Pines
Surf Pines was created a long time ago, in 1944, by a person named Barney Lucas. He and his partners started selling pieces of land, called lots, in the Surf Pines area in the 1950s. People could buy these lots to build their homes.
Later, in 1969, the Surf Pines Association was formed. This group helps take care of the roads and other shared parts of the community. More properties were added to Surf Pines in the 1980s and 1990s. To help keep the community private and safe, security gates were put in place in 1990.
