Susan Lynch (born in 1971) is a talented actress from Northern Ireland. She has appeared in many movies and television shows. You might know her from films like Waking Ned Devine (1998), Ready Player One (2018), and Downton Abbey (2019).

Early Life and Education
Susan Lynch was born in Corrinshego, a village in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. Her mother was from Italy, and her father was from Ireland. She is one of five children, and her older brother, John Lynch, is also a famous actor.
To become a professional actress, Susan trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, a very famous acting school.
Acting Career
Susan Lynch has had a successful career in movies, television, and on stage. She began acting professionally in the early 1990s.
Stage Acting
In 2004, she performed in a play called The Night Season at the Royal National Theatre in London. A few years later, in 2008, she had a leading role in the play The Last Days of Judas Iscariot at the Almeida Theatre.

Susan has played a wide variety of characters on screen. In 2000, she starred as Nora Barnacle in the movie Nora. The film tells the story of Nora and her husband, the famous Irish writer James Joyce.
She also appeared in the popular TV show Happy Valley as Alison Garrs. The show's writer, Sally Wainwright, said she wrote the part of Alison specifically for Susan.

Susan's acting has earned her many awards. She has won three Irish Film and Television Academy Awards. One of these was for Best Actress for her role in the movie Nora.
She also won a British Independent Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for the 2003 film 16 Years of ....
In 2020, her talent was recognized when The Irish Times placed her at number 42 on its list of Ireland's greatest film actors.
