Susupillo is a mountain in the Andes mountains of Peru. It stands about 4,400 meters (14,436 feet) high. Susupillo is located in the Huánuco Region, specifically in the Huamalíes Province, in an area called the Tantamayo District.
The mountain is also home to an important archaeological site. This site is found on the northern side of the mountain. It is located at an elevation of more than 3,800 meters (12,467 feet) above sea level.
A Special Place in History
The archaeological site of Susupillo is very important to Peru's history. Because of its value, it was officially named a National Cultural Heritage of Peru. This happened on June 18, 2002. This special title means the site is protected and recognized for its historical and cultural importance.
