Svitlana Serhiivna Loboda (born October 18, 1982), also known as LOBODA, is a Ukrainian singer and songwriter. She has become very successful in many Eastern European countries. She has won several awards, like the ZD Awards and the Bravo International Professional Music Awards.

About Svitlana Loboda
Her Early Life and Music Start
Svitlana Loboda loved music and acting from a young age. She would even create small musicals for her family during holidays. This led her to study piano, singing, and conducting at a special music school.
After music school, Svitlana continued her studies at the Kyiv Variety And Circus Academy. She joined a band called "Cappuccino." In 2003, she got a main role in Ukraine's first professional musical, "The Equator." Later that year, she started her own band, "Catch." She wrote songs and designed costumes for the band. This was her first experience as a composer and designer.
Joining and Leaving VIA Gra
In the spring of 2004, Svitlana became a singer in the famous trio "VIA Gra." With the group, she toured Asian cities and appeared in a music video. After three months, Svitlana decided to leave the band. In December, she released her first solo song, "Black and White Winter."
In November 2005, Svitlana Loboda released her first solo album, called “You Will Not Forget.”
In 2006, she released the song "Black Angel." After a trip to Japan, she recorded "Wait, man." That same year, she hosted a TV show called Shoumaniya. In 2007, she hosted “Miss CIS” and opened her own travel agency. She also held a photo exhibition of her pictures from India. The exhibition helped raise money for orphans and children with cancer. In 2008, she started a clothing line and released her second album, "Not Macho." She won an award for her "Original Performance Style."
Eurovision Song Contest 2009

In 2009, Svitlana Loboda entered Ukraine's national competition for the Eurovision Song Contest. Her song was called "Be My Valentine." On March 8, 2009, she won the competition. This meant she would represent Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, Russia.
Svitlana performed in the second semi-final and made it to the final round. She was very confident about her chances. In the end, her song finished in 12th place.
Svitlana used her time at Eurovision to talk about an important social issue. She started a project called "No Family Crimes." She even appeared in photos with fake injuries to show the problem of violence against women.

Helping Others
Svitlana Loboda is very active in charity work.

In August 2021, she supported a charity festival in Odesa. This festival raised money to buy medical equipment for children's hospitals. Svitlana donated a valuable dress to help raise funds.
She regularly helps sick children and families who need support. She gives 10% of her earnings to charity.
Since February 24, 2022, she has focused on helping Ukrainians. Her office became a volunteer center.
Loboda donated a large amount of money to the Masha Efrosinina Foundation. This foundation helps people affected by the war.

Svitlana Loboda provided food and supplies for several months to 350 refugees. These people had lost their homes because of the war.
Svitlana Loboda also lent her personal car to actor Alexei Surovtsev. He uses it to rescue animals from Irpin.
On August 14, Loboda's concert in Riga started a big charity tour. She performed in Europe and America. At each concert, she donates some of the money to help rebuild Irpin.
Before almost every concert, she visits camps for Ukrainian refugees. She supports them and gives them tickets to her shows.
On her birthday, October 18, 2022, she promised to donate money to repair buildings in Irpin. This led to a total of ₴3 million being raised. Other charity groups also joined to help restore buildings.
On December 26, 2022, Svitlana Loboda received an award from a Kazakhstan TV channel. It was "For Contribution to the Development and Restoration of Ukraine."
By the end of 2022, she had given over 14 million hryvnias to help Ukraine.
In January 2023, she continued her charity work. She donated more money for rebuilding in Irpin. She also announced more charity concerts around the world.
