Swift Creek is a small river located in the northern part of Manitoba, Canada. It flows into the Nelson River, which is a very large river that eventually reaches Hudson Bay. This means Swift Creek is part of the huge Hudson Bay drainage basin, an area where all the water flows into Hudson Bay.
Swift Creek starts from an unnamed lake. It then travels a short distance before joining the Nelson River.

Where Does Swift Creek Flow?
Swift Creek is found in the Northern area of Manitoba. It begins its journey from a lake that doesn't have a specific name. From there, it flows towards the Nelson River.
Joining the Nelson River
The Nelson River is a major waterway in Canada. Swift Creek joins the Nelson River as a "left tributary." This means if you were looking downstream (the direction the water flows) on the Nelson River, Swift Creek would be coming in from your left side.
Crossing Paths with Transportation
The creek flows under a few important routes.
- It passes under the Hudson Bay Railway. This railway line is used by the Via Rail Winnipeg – Churchill train. The train travels between the towns of Charlebois (to the north) and Amery (to the south).
- Just before it reaches the Nelson River, Swift Creek also flows under Manitoba Provincial Road 290. This road helps people travel through the area.
