Mohd Syafiq bin Mohd Yusof (born on December 7, 1992) is a talented Malaysian filmmaker. He is also known for his work in visual effects. Syafiq comes from a family famous for making movies. His older brother is the actor Syamsul Yusof, and his father is the well-known actor and director Yusof Haslam.
Syafiq started his career by making short films. His first big movie as a director was SAM: Saya Amat Mencintaimu, which came out in 2012. Since then, he has directed many popular films. Most of his movies have been very successful.

Early Life
Syafiq Yusof was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on December 7, 1992. He grew up in a family deeply involved in the film industry. His father, Yusof Haslam, is a veteran actor, director, and producer.
Syafiq's older brother, Syamsul Yusof, is also a famous actor and film director. Syamsul is known for directing hit horror movies like Munafik and Munafik 2. He also directed Mat Kilau (film), which became the highest-earning Malaysian film ever. Many of Syafiq's cousins, like Rizal Ashreff and Sabrina Ali, are also actors.
His Journey in Filmmaking
Syafiq began his career by creating short films. His first feature film, SAM: Saya Amat Mencintaimu, was released on August 19, 2012. This movie starred famous actors Shaheizy Sam and Lisa Surihani. In the same year, Syafiq worked with his cousin, Rizal Ashreff. They co-directed Evolusi KL Drift: The Series. This TV show was based on a 2008 movie directed by his brother, Syamsul Yusof.
In 2013, Syafiq and two friends started Viper Studios. This company focuses on making films, visual effects, and animation. Syafiq became the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company.
Directing Popular Movies
A year later, Syafiq directed Abang Long Fadil. This movie was a spin-off from the 2011 film KL Gangster. The popular actor Zizan Razak played his role as Fadil again. The film was released in May 2014 and was very popular.
His third movie was a horror film called Villa Nabila. It came out in January 2015. This movie was based on a real-life incident about a bungalow in 2013.
Syafiq then directed his fifth film, Desolasi. This mystery film with science fiction elements was released on December 8, 2016. His brother Syamsul played the main character, Aiman. Aiman is a visual artist who gets stuck in another dimension. Syafiq used many special effects to show Kuala Lumpur as an empty city.
His movie Abang Long Fadil 2 was released on August 24, 2017. This film was a huge success. It earned over RM 18.15 million, making it one of the highest-grossing Malaysian films at the time.
On March 8, 2018, Syafiq's action film KL Special Force was released. It starred Rosyam Nor, Fattah Amin, and his brother Syamsul. The movie set a new record in Malaysia. It earned over RM 12.1 million at the box office.
His latest movie, a psychological horror film called Misteri Dilaila, came out on February 21, 2019. It was filmed in Fraser's Hill, Pahang.
In September 2019, it was announced that Syafiq would direct Polis Evo 3. This is the third movie in the Polis Evo series. Shaheizy Sam and Zizan Razak will return in their roles.
Personal Life
Syafiq married his long-time girlfriend, Aisyeah Zainal, on April 5, 2014. They have three children together. Their two daughters are Nuur Jannah (born 2016) and Nuur Nusaybah (born 2018). They also have a son, Muhamad Nu'Aiman (born 2023).
