His Early Life
Syed Iftikhar Ul Hassan Shah was born on February 2, 1942, in Sialkot, a city in Punjab, Pakistan. He came from a respected Syed family. His family was known for being descendants of a famous Islamic saint named Muhammad Channan Shah Nuri.
His Political Journey
Syed Iftikhar Ul Hassan Shah was an important member of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) political party. He started his political career by serving in the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1990. This assembly helps make laws for the Punjab province.
He was first elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan in 1993, representing the area of Daska. He was re-elected to the National Assembly again in 1998.
Serving in the National Assembly
In the 2013 Pakistani general election, he was elected to the National Assembly once more. He represented Constituency NA-113 (Sialkot-IV). He won with a large number of votes, showing strong support from the people.
In October 2017, he was given an important role. He became the chairperson of the National Assembly's special committee for postal services. This committee helps manage and improve mail services in the country.
He was re-elected to the National Assembly in the 2018 Pakistani general election. He again represented the people from NA-75 (Sialkot-IV) and won against another candidate.
