Building the Synagogue
The first stone for the synagogue was placed in 1897. It took a long time to build, about 35 years! The building was finally finished and opened in 1932.
Two engineers, Alejandro Enquin and Eugenio Gantner, were in charge of designing and building this important place.
What the Synagogue Looks Like
The synagogue's style is called Romanesque Revival. This means it looks like old Roman buildings, but with a new twist. The design was inspired by synagogues built in Germany in the mid-1800s.
The building is quite large and can hold many people. It has space for about 700 worshippers inside.
