Kids Encyclopedia Facts

Lockdown was a special yearly wrestling show. It was created by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). This big event usually happened in April. The very first Lockdown show was on April 24, 2005. It took place in Orlando, Florida, at the TNA Impact! Zone.

Lockdown was famous for its special steel cage matches. At first, the wrestling ring had six sides! This was unique. But in 2010, they changed to a regular four-sided steel cage.

Lockdown also had other exciting matches. These included:

  • Lethal Lockdown: This was a team match inside the steel cage. It was like a bigger, tougher version of a regular cage match.
  • Xscape match: Many wrestlers started in the cage. To win, the last two wrestlers had to escape the cage. They could climb over the top or use the door.
  • Queen of the Cage match: This match was just for the TNA Knockouts, who are the female wrestlers.
