TPC Stonebrae, once known as TPC San Francisco Bay, is a special golf course and private golf club. It's located in the hills above Hayward, California, on the eastern side of the San Francisco Bay Area. This club is one of the newest and has a golf course ranked among the top 10 in Northern California.

Discovering TPC Stonebrae's History
TPC Stonebrae Country Club first opened its doors in 2007. Just one year later, its amazing championship golf course became part of the Tournament Players Club network. This network is run by the PGA Tour, which is a big deal in professional golf!
How TPC Stonebrae Got Its Name
When it joined the PGA Tour network, the club was first renamed TPC San Francisco Bay. Later, it became known as TPC Stonebrae. The club is owned and managed by YCS Investments. This company is linked to the family behind King Fook Holdings.
Awards and Recognition
Since it opened, TPC Stonebrae has won many awards.
- In 2007, LINKS Magazine called it "Northern California’s Best New Course."
- Travel + Leisure Golf also named it "One of the Best New Golf Courses" in 2007.
- In 2008, Golf Digest ranked it the "6th Best New Private Course in America."
- It also won the "National Private Course Winner for Environmental Leaders in Golf Awards" in 2015. This award is given by Golf Digest for being environmentally friendly.
- The club received "Merit Winner" awards for its private facility from 2007 to 2016. These were also from the Environmental Leaders in Golf Awards.
Exciting Golf Tournaments and Records
From 2008 to 2019, TPC Stonebrae was the home for the Ellie Mae Classic. This was a tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour, which is a step below the main PGA Tour. The tournament didn't happen in 2013 because a new clubhouse was being built.
A Brand New Clubhouse
In 2014, the club opened its fantastic new clubhouse. It's a huge building, about 32,000 square feet! Golf INC Magazine even named it the "2nd Best New Clubhouse in the World" that year.
Amazing Golf Records Set Here
In 2016, during the Ellie Mae Classic at TPC Stonebrae, something incredible happened. A golfer named Stephan Jaeger set a new record! He shot a score of 58 in one round. This was the lowest 18-hole score ever in a PGA Tour-approved event. He also set the lowest 72-hole total score in history for a PGA Tour-approved event.
Stephen Curry on the Green
In 2017, Stephen Curry from the Golden State Warriors basketball team played in the Ellie Mae Classic. He got a special invitation to play in his first professional golf tournament. Stephen Curry scored 74 in his first two rounds. He came back to play again in 2018, but he didn't make it to the final rounds that time.
