About TV Mayhem
TV Mayhem was a children's show that lasted only six weeks. It started in September 1991. Each episode was about 30 minutes long.
Who Hosted TV Mayhem?
A famous TV host named Chris Evans presented TV Mayhem. He later became very well known. In 1992, he started co-hosting The Big Breakfast on Channel 4.
What Cartoons Were On?
TV Mayhem showed some cool cartoons. These included animated parts from Wake, Rattle and Roll. This meant you could watch Fender Bender 500 and Monster Tails. The show also featured Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventures.
Why Did TV Mayhem End?
TV Mayhem was planned to run for a long time, about 40 weeks. However, it ended much sooner. The TV channel TV-am lost its broadcasting license. This happened on October 16, 1991. Another company called GMTV took over. Because of this, TV Mayhem had to stop.
What Happened Next?
Neither Hey Hey It's Saturday nor TV Mayhem became as popular as earlier shows. These included Wide Awake Club or WAC '90. Still, many people who watched TV Mayhem remember it fondly.
After TV Mayhem finished, TV-am started a new Saturday morning block. It was called Cartoon World. As the name suggests, this new block only showed cartoons. Cartoon World ran from November 1991 until TV-am stopped broadcasting in December 1992.
