History of Tabor

Tabor got its name from a town called Tábor in the Czech Republic. Many of the first people who settled here came from that country. They brought their culture and traditions with them. The town was officially made a part of the county in 1888.

Tabor is located in the southern part of South Dakota. You can find it near South Dakota Highway 50. This highway helps people travel in and out of town. The town is quite small in size.
