The Taifa of Alpuente was a small kingdom that existed in the past. It was located in the Iberian Peninsula, which is where Spain and Portugal are today. This kingdom was ruled by a group of people called the Berbers.
The Taifa of Alpuente started around the year 1009. It was formed after a larger government, the Caliphate of Córdoba, broke apart. The kingdom lasted until about 1106. Its main city was Alpuente. A family from the Banu Qasim tribe ruled this kingdom.
Who Ruled Alpuente?
The rulers of Alpuente were called Emirs. They belonged to the Qasimid family. Here are some of the Emirs who led the Taifa of Alpuente:

- Muhammad I Yumn ad-Dawla: He was in charge from 1030 to 1042.
- Ahmad b Muhammad 'Izz (o Adud) al-Dawla: His rule was short, from 1042 to 1043.

What Happened to Alpuente?
The Taifa of Alpuente was one of many small kingdoms that appeared after the Caliphate of Córdoba fell apart. These small kingdoms were called "taifas." They often fought with each other. Eventually, a powerful group called the Almoravids conquered Alpuente in 1106. This ended the Taifa of Alpuente.
