Taishi Endo (遠藤 大志, Endō Taishi, born March 31, 1980) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a goalkeeper, which means his job was to protect the goal and stop the other team from scoring.
Taishi Endo's Football Career
Taishi Endo was born in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, on March 31, 1980. He loved football from a young age. After finishing high school, he began his journey as a professional football player.
Starting with FC Tokyo
In 1998, Taishi joined a team called Tokyo Gas. This team later became famous as FC Tokyo. When he first joined, the team was in the Japan Football League. This was a lower division at the time.
His team worked very hard. In 1999, they moved up to the J2 League. This was a big step! Then, in 2000, they were promoted again. They reached the top league, the J1 League.
Even though his team was doing great, Taishi didn't play in many games. Another goalkeeper, Yoichi Doi, was often the main player for FC Tokyo. Taishi stayed with FC Tokyo until 2006.
Moving to New Teams
In 2007, Taishi decided to move to a new team. He joined Montedio Yamagata, which was in the J2 League. This team also had a lot of success. They were promoted to the J1 League in 2009.
However, Taishi still didn't get much playing time. He was a dedicated player, but it was tough to get on the field.
In 2010, he joined Sony Sendai. This team played in the Japan Football League. He played in a few matches that year. But in 2011, he didn't play at all. Taishi Endo decided to retire from football at the end of the 2011 season. He had a long career as a professional goalkeeper.
