The Takasaki Line (高崎線, Takasaki-sen) is a busy railway line in Japan. It stretches about 74.7 kilometers (46.4 miles) long. This line connects Omiya Station in Saitama Prefecture to Takasaki Station in Gunma Prefecture. It runs diagonally from south to north. The East Japan Railway Company, also known as JR East, owns and operates this line.
The trains on the Takasaki Line have green and orange colors. This makes them look similar to trains on the Utsunomiya Line. A trip between Takasaki and Omiya costs 1280 yen.
These trains can travel up to 120 kilometers per hour (75 mph). This means you can get from Omiya to Takasaki in about an hour and a half. During the day, the Takasaki Line usually has six trains per hour. This includes both local and rapid trains. Sometimes, the trains can get very crowded. This often happens with students and people going to work. Major cities along the line include Ageo, Okegawa, Kumagaya, and Fukaya.
